Ascona is one of the richest "Comune" of Ticino, a state located in the south of Swirterland. Here there are international festivals such as the Jazz Festival and nearby there`s Locarno, world known because of its International Film Festival. Ascona has also the most ancient school of Ticino the "Collegio Papio". The language spoken is officially Italian, even if the most known also German because of the many tourists.
