Matterhorn Bobsleds (Anaheim, California)

USA / California / Garden Grove / Anaheim, California
roller coaster, place with historical importance, tourist attraction

The Matterhorn Bobsleds is an attraction which takes riders on bobsleds in and out of Matterhorn mountain. It was designed by WED enterprises (now called Disney Imagineering) and Arrow Dynamics as the first tubular steel roller coaster ever constructed. This distinction has earned it a place as one of the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE) landmarks.

The attraction was refurbished in 2013 with new bobsleds, track, and a new paintjob to the mountain structure. Guests now go single file 3 in one bobsled with no lap sitting with 2 bobsleds connected.

  • This is one of my faves too!! :D
  • One fact I read said, that if you ride on the Fantasyland side, the ride's speed is slow, but if you ride on the Tomorrowland side, the ride's speed is fast.
  • Great refurb.
  • Not very much leg room, hurt my shins!
  • Nice picture.
  • Should add in some new show scenes.
