This is the night-time antenna array for KFXR-AM, 1190 kHz. It is notable in that it contains twelve towers, the most complex AM transmitting system in the US and probably in the world. The large number of towers is required to produce a highly directional signal that does not interfere with other stations on this same frequency. KFXR is also unusual in that its day-time antenna is over 30 miles away, near Irving, TX.
Of historical note, this station was originally KLIF-AM, owned and operated for many years by the legendary Gordon McClendon, one of the fathers of the top-40 rock and roll radio format.
