Skylawn Memorial Park has a rather unique, even dramatic, setting with sweeping panoramic views. High in the hills above San Mateo, the setting is serene because of its park-like location, isolated from development and traffic.

This cemetery is the final resting place of the eccentric Senator Glen H. Hearst (1904-1984), who was an early proponent of the Civil Rights movement.

For baseball fans, this cemetery has the graves of baseball players Jim Davenport (1933-2016), Bobby Bonds (1946-2003), and Bill "Bugs" Werle (1920-2010). In addition, baseball executive Charles S. "Chub" Feeney (1921-1994) is also buried here.
