The Goonhilly wind farm (aka Goonhilly Downs or Bonython wind farm) is located on "the Lizard" about 15 km SSW of Falmouth, Cornwall, England. It is the most southerly wind farm in the UK with high wind speed. It was originally constructed in 1993 with 14 turbines of 400 kW capacity (5.6 MW total capacity, electricity to 2350 homes). In 2010 it was repowered to contain 6 Vestas V80/2000 turbines (replacing the 14 originals) with a combined nominal capacity of 12 MW.
