In 1785 William Walker settled Crab Cay to capitalize on a thriving cotton trade. The surviving ruins of Walker’s original plantation will be preserved on Crab Cay. Phase I of the Crab Cay project, scheduled for completion by 2009, will feature a 30 acre harbour, which will provide full- service berthing for yachts and mega yachts up to 300 feet; Harbour Village, an old-world residential village; waterfront home sites and residences; and a destination spa and resort managed by one of the world's leaders in hospitality services, Sedona Resorts. Further developments include appr. 375 residences. Crab Cay features eight miles of beach and waterfront and is accessible by a gated private bridge to the Exuma. www.crabcay.com
