cemetery, place with historical importance
The founder of Charles Town, WV is buried here with his wife. When a new subdivison was built on adjacent property there must have been a requirement to erect the new stone wall that surrounds the graves. To get to it take the street past the vets office and it is to the left of the righthand curve as you begin to enter the development. Charles was one of George Washingtons brothers. Streets in town are named after various Washington relatives. Charles donated the four corners of the main town intersection at its creation for government buildings. The courthouse, city hall, post office and Washington Hall now stand on those lots.
