Skochinsky mine (Donetsk)

Put into operation in 1975, was named in honor of Academician Alexander Skochinsky (1874-1960), an outstanding scientist in the field of mining.
Mining is conducted at a depth of 1200-1300 m. At the time of opening it was the deepest coal mine in the world.
