lake, reservoir lake
A lake at about 7900 ft altitude (depending on fill level due to drought conditions) I believe built about 1920 by daming the creek, for hydropower purposes. A hydro tunnel under Kaiser Pass connects it to Huntington Lake. It, and Florence Lake, are among the highest lakes in the region that can be reached by road from the west. There was car camping at the W end of the lake in the late 1950s, and boats could be rented there for fishing or reaching the John Muir Trail, which crosses the creek just at the E end of the lake.
