Mushroom Rock

 landmark, interesting place
Locally known landmark, prominent enough to appear on U.S. government survey maps. About 10 feet high, the top part is as rough volcanic stone, while the base is has been blasted smooth by desert sandstorms. Black and white postcards show how the rock looked in the mid 1930s. Since then about half the rock has collapsed from vandalism.
