The USS Shreveport was the sixth member of the Cleveland Class of Amphibious Transport Dock Ships (LPD) and served with the US Atlantic Fleet for 37 years as a member of Amphibious Group Two.

Decommissioned at Naval Base Norfolk on September 26th, 2007 the former Shreveport was towed here to the Philadelphia NISMF where she is retained in Category X reserve awaiting disposal by foreign sale, scrapping or use as a target ship.
