Formerly the site of Europe's largest gas works, the development at Beckton in London’s Royal Docks provides 300,000 sq.ft (28,000 m) of retail space with associated leisure, food and customer services. Developed by Castlemore, phase one opened in Winter 2003 and phase 2 in September 2004.

Gallions Reach is the identified site for the multi modal Thames Gateway Bridge, which will double the catchment area for this retail development. Gallions Reach opened for Christmas 2003 as the first purpose built Shopping Park within the M25; bringing top high street names to the customers of East London and offering the safety and convenience that no town centre can match.

Gallions Reach Retail Park in Beckton is an impressive shopping centre. There are not many shops but those do have most favourites shops. There is a Tesco Extra (which is HUGE!), Smyths, Dorothy Perkins, New Look, TK Maxx, Next, River Island, Clarks, Wallis, Topman, HMV and lots of other shops. They do have some eating places around the retail park such as McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Nandoos. There is ample parking and the best part of the shopping experience here is that it is never crowded.
