  • Sir Arth, remember me? Youngest sis of Bonifacio Villegas (married to Clarita Floreta, rip). I know Palimbang because this was the municipality where everything from Milbuk gets registered, (birth, baptism, marriage). We used to come here and visit, i'm not sure, i think the Calapardos. I remember going to Palimbang, it's a long trip, about one and a half to two hour trip and when you reached an intersection, you make a left to go to Palimbang and i think going right is going to the mountains where the workers go. Maliit pa ako no-on.
  • Hi zelde, Ofcourse I do remember you, You're the first NDM alumni to answer my blog in the milbuklegacy website and please do me a favor just call me arth I'm not really compfortable with a "SIR" attached to my name, I dont know why. But any as far as I can recall there are two road routes going to Palimbang. (1) The Hwy 69,is the scenic route via Napnapon (old Basilan Lumber co. road) about two and half hrs trip from Milbuk to the intersection "crossing" as we called this place in the old days (Baranayan Interior) You have to go thru a river and its about an hour walk to Palimbang Municipality. The 2nd route is the Expressway, its a newer road along the beach that will go thru several villages like Barongis, Balogo, Wal and Baranayan and it will turn righ (going to the mtn.) when it reach the old log pond site in Baranayan. From here you well go thru a river and its about half hour walk to Palimbang. This is the route that the second Weyerhauser ambush happen on the Village of "Wal" in the book "On The Palms of Hands".
  • Hi Arth, thank you. I'm impressed that you remember Milbuk and it's surrounding places. Me, aside from Palimbang, I remember Sinangkangan, Kanipaan, and in the other side Waray. btw, i spoke to Susinia "Neneng" Pasaporte last weekend. She's in England. God bless!
  • Hi Jeana, My sister just told me that our parents and yours knows each other way back then ( Geneza Family). My sister knows more about Palimbang than I do. Its my shortcoming and I'm sorry. Where are your siblings now !! are they still in Palimbang or with you in Davao?? Join us in our new website "www.milbuklegecy.com". Be in touch with your classmate, schoolmate and friends during high school days in Milbuk. The 2010 NDM Alumni and Milbukians Grand Reunion will held in Gensan. This time, most Alumni and Milbukians that work or lived abroad will be attending the reunion. God Bless !
  • Hi zeldie, Ma-ayong adlaw diha sa imo sa nueva york. I know the place bcoz I grow up in this region(along the coast, north of Milbuk) and I spent most of my teenage year in our family farm in Balogo(situated between Kanipa-an Palimbang). Before Basilan Lumber Company (BLC) come to Milbuk, there are no road at all going to Palimbang you have to walk (Cadilac-kad). There are two Pasaporte family, one in Baranayan and one in Milbuk company camp, they are all related oneway or another. Neneng Pasporte is from milbuk camp family. I think there are two Pasaporte in England now, I'm not sure if they are sister or cousin.
  • Hi Arth, 3 actually, sisters sila tanan. I also know their cousin Enrico Pasaporte, classmate namo siya. Are you going to the 2010 reunion? Hindi ko pa alam if i'm going or not. Diin ka man karon nakapuyo? Talk to you later.
  • Hi Zeldie, you're right there are 3 Pasaporte sister in UK now, my mistake. About the "2010 Gensan Reunion", as of now I'm not sure yet for one reason, nobody in my batch or even close to my batch('62 to '65) have found the website yet, in Short they are still MIA and we don't have much time to spare. Aayy nako Zeldie, dinhi man ako napadpad sa hagin sa Evergreen State daw kini ug naa akoy gamay nga payag dinhi, silingan gihapon nako ang Weyerhaeuser (Corporate / Headquarter Office).
  • Hello Arth, so you are in the west coast and i am in the east coast, silingan diay ta. You know, around 1978 or 79, neneng p used to live in Cubao together with your sister, I wasn't sure who it was. We (Fid & I) used to come and visit and hang out and watch TV in their apartment. I was also reading you blog in the Legacy, you have travelled a lot. Aside from Germany, diin ka man nakaadtu, Istoryahan mo ako. avid fan, Zeldie
  • Arth, correction 1973 to 75 yata, Zeld
  • Hello Zeldie, So you and Fidie used to visit and hang out with neneng P. at the Cubao, QC Apartment during 1973 - 75 time frame. I dont know why we didnt met then, maybe I'll blame neneng P., b'coz I Stay in that place when I'm in vacation in Pinas. I met Vren Bello there while I'm on vacation thru Jing Reyes, I dont know if you know him but he is from sinangkangan and also an NDM alumni. You probably met my mom in that apartment too. By the way if your new found friend from the Kingdom sent her photo to you whould you share it with me, I'll like to see her too. 'tel next time <> arth<>
  • Sure Arth. I don't remember what happened. I don't know how Neneng and I parted ways without communications until now. I know that during college, we moved alot (different apartments) Then I transferred from FEU to Concordia in Paco. I have to commute about 1-11/2 hr going and then back from school. Anyway, those were the days. I'm glad we are now talking. I'll call Neneng soon and ask some pictures. Pareho lang kami, not very good in computers. For me to send pic i have to ask my daughter to do it. Talk to you later.
  • Hello Zeldie, Im not asking neneng P. pictures I knows the sister back then, what I mean with the new found friend from the "kingdom" is evelyn G, she said she gonna sent you a photo. Our parents knows each other way back then b'coz they are pioneer settler in the region. I remember when I was 4 or 5 years old my mom used to drag me to Tibulos(Garcia's Place) to visit their mom (2 hrs walk one way from our farm in Balogo and when you're a kid thats a long walk. Zeldie, I'm from batch "64 and in my time in NDM, hand electronic calculator never been invented yet and during my college years, PC as we called it now still probably on Apple / IBM's drawing board. Dont fell bad, I dont know much about the computer too. so long, 'tel next posting. vaya con dios.. God Bless.
  • Ni prob, Arth. I have to answer her blog first. btw, pulo lang ang commandments. Ang 11th, thou shalt not eat salt 'coz it's 'asin'. hehehe! 12th, thou shalt not smoke. 13th, thou shalt not drink beverage with alcohol. Arth, i hope dili masuko si "G" sa ako, joke lang. Later.
  • Zeldie, Nganong masoko man si Ms. "G" siya itong nag-offer na padalhan ka ug photo niya, all what you do is share it with me, so I will know her too pag dating nang reunion di ba ?? he he he he ..... sayonara
  • Arth, wa man ka makasabut naku. I mean "G" sa taas sa langit. kay gi-joke man naku ang 10 Commandments. Hehehehe.
  • Zeldie, Opss!! big misunderstanding on the "G". I thought you are reffering to the Tibulos "G". The "G" above is very forgiving.

Regards to you and your family. Bless you all.
  • I belong to the younger generation of NDM Alumni. We belong to the Bagang Clan of Baranayan. My mother is Manuela Bagang and my father is Andres Mission, Sr. . I have lots of wonderful memories of Palimbang. We used to cross the bukana (near Calye Apike)just to attend mass at the local church. I finished my elemtary education at Palimbang Central School. Some of my teachers had passed away and some have retired. My teacher in grade II was Jessica Jumantoc, my grade three teacher which I adore so much was Cornelia Palmes Y Geneza. She was a very good teacher! My grade 4 teacher was the late Alejandro Saura. My grade 5 teacher was Elilou Quijano Dalida. She was a disciplinarian. My grade six teacher was Virginia Brana. I learned many things from her that even now I can't forget some of the lessons of life she had imparted to us. Palimbang then at that time was so peaceful. My siblings used to hike along the shores from Baranayan passing through log pond (the place of my classmate remegio domingo) I had fond memeries with some of my classmates/schoolmates before...like Grace Sema Mylene Manan, Eddie Ermitano, Jr. Bebing Tia, Aldren Mamon, Mabaning Samama, Nurcia ali, Anthony Ong, Farida Kusain. After graduation in Elem. i studied at Notre dame of Milbuk and graduated on 1996.Presently I am a secondary school teacher in one of the public high schools in Gen. Santos city.
