Eagle Lake is a city in southeastern Colorado County, Texas. The population was 3,639 at the 2010 US Census, and it is home to the largest private lake in Texas (it gets it name from an Indian legend of a young girl who chose between two suitors by having them cross the lake, climb a tree, and return with a young eagle).
