Yaphank Station is on the main line of the Long Island Rail Road, located between the Georgia-Pacific Warehouse and the Suffolk County Police Department Garage. First opened as 'Milleville' in 1845, name changed to Yaphank in 1846. Second house built 1875, razed in 1961. After this, it was little more than a sheltered platform, and hi-level platforms were added in 2001.
