LIRR - Long Island Rail Road, train station
Bridgehampton is a station on the Montauk Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. First opened in 1870 for the now abandoned Sag Harbor Branch, burned to the ground in 1884. Another station replaced it in the same year, and in 1895 it began to also serve the Montauk Extension. The Sag Harbor Branch was abandoned in 1940. Bridgehampton station house was razed in 1964, and by 1968 it was replaced with a shelter, but a new one with high-level platforms was built by 2001.
