An incorporated city with a population of approximately 515, Nooday is home of the "Noonday onion" whose terroir extends in a ten mile radius from the city hall.
The town is still locked in a bitter feud between the City Council and the Noonday Onion Growers Association that arose when the City Council decided to permit onion farmers from outside the area by a mile or two participate in the 2005 Noonday Onion Festival. The result was two competing Onion Festivals both of which proved to be economic failures.
