The Nechsar ('White Grass') National Park lies in the Main Ethiopian Rift (MER), southern Ethiopia near the town of Arba Minch. It was established in 1974 to preserve nature, especially to protect a population of endemic Swayne's Hartebeest.

The park covers an approximate area of 514 km² (198.5 mi²) including part of lakes Abaya and Chamo. A strip of land separating the lakes is known as 'Ye Egzer Dildiy' ('God's Bridge') offers a panoramic views of the surrounding area.
