The Sunshine Bridge is a cantilever bridge over the Mississippi River in St. James Parish, Louisiana. It carries LA 70, which connects Donaldsonville on the west bank of Ascension Parish with Sorrento on the east bank of the parish. Built in 1964 as a toll bridge and widely scorned as a "bridge to nowhere", today the bridge carries mostly industrial traffic and benefits from being connected to the adjacent Interstate system.
