Great party place for boaters. Often called 'Dutch Ship Island' by locals. New owner put a fence up to keep people from going past it. Usually the no trespassing signs are ripped off and somebody burned one of the pilings that make up the fence. You are still allowed to go on the island just not past the fence, which is usually ignored anyway.
