castle ruins, archaeological site

The site of a ruined fortress from Antiquity and the Middle Ages, northeast of the city of Kale in Turkey. The identification with Roman-period Tomisa is uncertain, and that site is usually sought to the southeast, west of Habibuşağı, or between Kadıköy and Pınarlı; much has been obscured by the flooding of the area by the dam on the Euphrates.
