Corn Exchange Bank Building (New York City, New York)

USA / New Jersey / Hoboken / New York City, New York / Broadway, 525
office building, bank, Chase (bank), historical building

8-story Neo-Classical bank building completed in 1924, renovated in 1970. It is clad in reddish-brown brick, with white stone bands above and below the 2nd and top floor. Stone quoins framed the windows of the 2nd floor. The ground floor has tall round-arches, with three stone-framed entrances - each flanked by pilasters supporting a rounded pediment. The upper-floor windows are arranged in pairs, except for the top floor, which has larger and more widely-spaced round-arched windows. There are three bays facing Broadway, and five on Springs Street, plus one additional bay of single windows.

The building was acquired by JPMorgan Chase in 2012. Chase or its predecessors have had a branch there since 1919 when the Corn Exchange Bank, which later merged with Chemical, bought the building.
