LVRRs Willard station was primarily used as a freight depot for local agriculture as well as a car interchange point between the Buffalo-New York mainline and the short connecting railway between Hayts Corners and Willard Landing. At the time of the stations construction, the landing was a major lake carrier shipment point, so LVRR equipped their mainline station with several sidings to allow for car storage and transloading between the two lines. The station also operated as a flag passenger stop on the mainline and later became a supply stop for the nearby Willard Asylum and its inmates.

The station remained in use until the Conrail takeover of the LVRR, after which both the station and the mainline it sat upon were removed.
