The Armoury is located in the area of Agora, to the west of the prytaneion and attached to this, and have a substantial subterranean room with inner dimensions 18,20 x 6,20 m. An internal colonnade supported the upper floor and a heavily-built doorway. This room was rebuilt in opus reticulatum in the first century AD. A third reconstruction phase reintegrates reuses a roman inscription of the year 137 AD which constitutes a decree of the decuriones, dedicated to Lucius Aelius Cesar, the adopted son of Hadrian. Another roman inscription found in this room is dedicated to the emperor Antoninus Pius with a decree issued by the decuriones and dates in 140 AD. Because of the fact that it has been rebuilt several times, the exact function of this building is not known though its location in the agora suggests a public character, probably that of an armoury.
