Interstate 395 and I-395 Express Lanes Interchange

This is a basketweave interchange between Interstate 395 (Shirley Highway) and the I-395 Express Lanes at Turkeycock Run in Lincolnia, Virginia. The express lanes run down the median of Interstate 395. In the northbound direction it is a three level interchange with right exits and right entries only. In the southbound direction, it is a two level interchange with a left hand exit from Interstate 395 to the express lanes. Also, the exit from eastbound Virginia Route 236 (Duke Street) reaches southbound Interstate 395 at this interchange by merging with the southbound ramp.

The interchange was first constructed as a partial interchange around 1967 with the express lanes, but missing the movement from the northbound express lanes to Interstate 395. This movement was added in 2014 with the construction of a new bridge. The ramp from Route 236 was extended in 2020 with the widening of southbound Interstate 395.
