Las Hurdes is a region in the north of the province of Cáceres, in Extremadura (Spain, Europe). The most populous council is Pinofranqueado (in the Estremeñu language, Pinofranqueau) and the capital of the region is the village of Vegas de Coria, located in the council of Nuñomoral, since this village is where the headquarters of the association of municipalities of Las Hurdes is located. The region of Las Hurdes has 6 councils and 40 villages (called "alquerias" in the area).
