park, place with historical importance
Elysian Park is a small park in Hoboken, New Jersey that is the last remnant of the much larger and historic Elysian Fields. The area once comprised the northern part of the Castle Point estate, owned by the Stevens family since 1784, and later becoming SIT, in 1870. It was the location of the first known organized game of baseball in 1846. It is currently bounded on the west by Hudson Street, and the north and east by Sinatra Drive, Elysian Park has two play areas, a basketball court, a sprinkler, a dog run and rest rooms. The northern end of prestigious Castle Point Terrace ends at the park.
