Letters bulldozed into the permafrost by an employee of Geophysical Services Incorporated, sometime in the early 1960s. Clearly visible as of the survey "A Patrol and Reconnaissance of the Arctic National Wildlife Range 6/9/65 to 6/25/65," conducted for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, but still faintly visible today.
