The Kaheawa wind farm consists of 34 GE Energy 1.5se wind turbines for a total nominal capacity of 51 Megawatts. Phase 1 (20 turbines in the upper/northwest section) was completed in 2006, whereas Phase 2 (14 turbines in the lower/southeast section) was completed in 2012. It is owned and operated by UPC Wind Management & Makani Nui Associates, and provides power for Maui Electric Company (MECO).
