The Kimbark Theatre was designed by Grossman & Proskauer and opened in 1913. The single-screen theatre served the Woodlawn community in it's booming early years. As the area fell on hard times, so did the theatre and it closed in the 1960's. A church took over the theatre building until the early 2000's. After sitting vacant and uncared for, the theatre was demolished in 2015. Single-family residences now occupy the site.
