5-story Renaissance-revival residential building consisting of six individual but complementary structures, each with a separate entrance, originally completed together in 1897. As built , the group included 477 Central Park West at the north end, forming a row along the entire blockfront. When the buildings were last sold and renovated, the north building was not included, and has since been separately renovated to a slightly differing appearance. The southernmost building, No. 471, originally had its entrance on West 107th Street, but it has been moved to Central Park West to match the others. The facades are clad in white Roman brick with limestone trim.
No. 471 has a rounded southeast corner, and the lower two floors have horizontal stone banding. The former entrance is at the center of the south facade on 107th Street, and is now converted to a square window, with the stoop removed entirely. This bay retains the original flanking Corinthian columns set in a square surround with three separate, intricate moldings and topped by a panel of foliate ornament. A single-window is paired with the former entrance, on its left. There are four more single-windows to the west, the last two grouped together, and three to the east, with a very small bathroom window between the two easternmost. The rounded corner bay also has a single-window, and all of the single-windows have beveled stone surrounds. A basement areaway at the east half of the building, enclosed by an iron railing, has windows at each bay, while the west half is fronted by metal rubbish bins. The ground floor is capped by a dentiled cornice that acts of a sill course for the 2nd floor. The upper floors have the same window arrangement, except in the middle, where another single-window is placed above the former entrance, but offset to the right, and there is another small bathroom window bay to the left of the window next to the former entrance. The 2nd-floor windows also have beveled stone surrounds, topped by thin cornices, and another dentiled cornice serves as the sill course for the 3rd floor. There are quoined surrounds at the 3rd floor, topped by either rounded or triangular pediments. The 4th floor has splayed stone lintels, and another dentiled sill course sets off the 5th floor, which also has stone surrounds with cornices, as well as paneled piers between the window bays. At the 4th floor there are decorative terra-cotta wall ornaments, each with scrolls surrounding the four sides of a rectangular panel. A pair of black metal fire escapes runs down the facade, which is crowned by a brown metal roof cornice with modillions and dentils; the cornice also wraps around the rounded corner.
The narrower east facade of No. 471 facing Central Park West has a single-window next to the rounded corner bay, and three more on the north end, with the last two grouped closer together, and the first one at the ground floor replaced by the current entrance. It has a glass door, sidelight, and short transom atop a steep stoop with white-painted stone sidewalls topped by short metal handrails; the doorway is covered by a suspended glass canopy. The window trim and ornament matches that seen on the south facade, and the roof cornice continues onto this facade as well.
The buildings at the middle of the block are narrower, and set slightly lower. No. 472 has a short, 3-step stoop with circular cutouts in the sidewalls. It has the same glass door and canopy as No. 471, but in the original surround that matches the former entrance on No. 471's south facade, with columns and intricate moldings. There is a wide single-window to the right, and two window bays on the upper floors, with the trim and ornament all matching the pattern established on the south building (with triangular pediments at the 3rd floor). A notable difference is that quoins frame the edges of the facade on the 2nd-4th floors. Shared between Nos. 472 & 473 is a recessed section with two bays of single-windows, as well as a single-window at the rear of the north- and south-facing walls. These windows have simple stone surrounds at the 1st, 2nd, & 5th floors, and splayed lintels on the 3rd & 4th, and a fire escape runs down the rear wall. At the basement level are two metal doors, accessed by a metal staircase down from the sidewalk. The roof cornices continues back along the recessed area, and onto the northern buildings.
No. 473 is a mirror-image of No. 472, only with a slightly higher stoop of five steps.
No. 474 at the center of the block is three bays wide, with its entrance in the south bay. It has a twin stoop and entry surround to No. 473, but the metal-and-glass door is different, and there is no canopy. The dentiled sill courses are continuous with No. 473, as is the roof cornice. The center 3rd-floor window has a rounded pediment, and the outer two have triangular pediments. A fire escape runs down the south two bays.
No. 475 is a mirror-image of No. 473, but set slightly lower, including the roof cornice. The stoop is shorter, with only four steps. The recessed area shared with No. 476 matches the recessed area at Nos. 472-473, with another fire escape.
No. 476 is a mirror-image of No. 472, but with a higher, 5-step stoop. The complex in total contains 125 total apartment units.
