160-foot, 16-story Neo-Gothic/Renaissance-revival residential building completed in 1929. Designed by Gronenberg & Leuchtag, it is clad in buff-colored brick with a low, light-grey granite water table. The round-arched entrance is centered on the symmetrical east facade on Central Park West. It has wrought-iron-and-glass double-doors below a peaked, grey canvas canopy extending out over the sidewalk, set in a 2-story limestone surround with two layers of spiral moldings around the arch and continuing down as engaged pilasters framing the doors. Above the arch are splayed carved blocks with eagles and griffins. Above the entrance the 2nd floor has a triple-window, each round-arched with fanlights, separated by spiral colonnettes; the sill has a wave pattern, and there is a row of small square with carved rosettes of various designs just below the dentiled cornice that caps the 2nd floor. On the upper floors the center bay has paired windows.
To either side of the center bay are a double-window, a single-window, and another double-window, with dark-grey iron mullions. At the ground floor the double-windows have stone surrounds, and at the 2nd floor they have checkerboard stone lintels with floral designs at the middle and ends, where there are also notched imposts. The edges of the facade have quoins, stone at the lower two floors, and brick above. There are thin stone surrounds edged in brick at the 3rd floor, and also at the outer bays of the 13th & 14th floors. The center bay is fronted by a stone balcony on the 9th floor, with ornamented posts at the ends and center, and balusters in between; it is carried on three squat brackets. The paired windows above the balcony are topped by round-arches in brick. A double string course sets off the 13th floor, which also has balconies fronting the bays on either side of the middle. These have 2-story stone surrounds extending to round-arched tops at the 14th floor, with ornamented stone spandrels between the floors and larger stone arches encompassing both windows in each bay. The 15th floor is topped by a scalloped and dentiled stone cornice, with a 16th-floor penthouse set back above it. The penthouse is clad in grey stone, and is surrounded by terrace space. There is a light court at the south side of the building, which the penthouse wraps around.
The north facade on 107th Street has a lower water table, and spans seven bays of paired windows in the middle of the facade (grouped in a 3-2-2 pattern east-to-west), with slightly-wider single-window end bays. At the ground floor the easternmost paired-window bay has a single-window instead, and the west pair of the eastern group has a smaller window spaced farther apart from its mate. All of the ground-floor windows have iron grilles, and some pairs have stone surrounds. There are three small basement openings with iron grilles at the sidewalk level. The trim on the upper floors matches that on the east facade, with balconies on two of the 9th-floor bays, and also on the end bays at the 13th floor.
The west facade is clad in lighter brick and has a single-window at the north end, followed by a smaller bathroom window paired with a double-window, and another double-window by itself. The set-back south end of this facade has a bay of paired windows covered by a fire escape and a double-window at the end.
The building was converted from rental apartments to condominiums in 1993, with 99 condominium units. It is managed by FirstService Residential.
