--------
Lake named after the near village of Durankulak. The lake itself is a natural reserve. There is a bird watching station here.
The lake is also an archaeologically important area. Pithouses of the oldest known inhabitants of Dobrudzha, dating to 5,100–4,700 BC, have been unearthed near the west shore, as well as 3,500–3,400 BC mound burials and a Sarmatian necropolis from Late Antiquity.
Another interesting places to be visit might be the island in the lake as well as the fish restaurants.
