6-story Romanesque/Renaissance-revival cooperative-apartment building originally completed in 1904 as two separate buildings with matching designs, also matching the two to the west, Nos. 12 & 16. The original entrances were sealed and a new common entrance was created in one of the former window bays when the buildings were joined internally. Designed by Bernstein & Bernstein, the facade is clad in dark-red brick with limestone trim, above a rusticated limestone ground floor.
The current entrance is at the east end of what was the western of the two original buildings. It has a small stoop and metal-framed glass door below a sloped, red canvas awning. The entire facade of what was the west building is slightly higher than the east due to the slope of the street. To the right of the entrance are five single-windows with iron grilles; the original entrance was in the 3rd bay from the east, where there is no rustication. The outer four bays have scrolled keystones on top. The east half of the ground floor has six bays of single-windows, with no rustication at the 3rd bay from the west (the other former entrance), and also keystones topping the outer bays.
The upper floors on each side have three bays of paired windows. The outer bays have stone surrounds from the 2nd-5th floors, with thin egg-and-dart moldings, and the 2nd floor is banded with stone, with the bands also crossing the surrounds. There are also stone spandrels between the floors in these bays, connecting the surrounds, and shallow, rounded pediments topping the 3rd floor, with elaborate foliate ornament. The center-bay windows also have stone surrounds at the 2nd floor, with moldings and scrolled keystones, and the other floors have splayed stone lintels with scrolled keystones. The 6th floor is set off by a thin string course, and a black metal fire escape runs down the middle of both halves of the building, with simple metal copings capping the roof line.
