10-story Renaissance-revival/Beaux-Arts residential building completed in 1907. Designed by Mulliken & Moeller, it is clad in red brick and beige terra-cotta above a 2-story limestone base. The elaborate entrance is centered on the south facade, with a very low set of four granite steps leading back to recessed, metal-framed glass double-doors and sidelights set in a shallow arch. A portico is formed by round columns of brown polished granite and squared limestone columns with panels of Renaissance ornament, each with a Corinthian capital, rising from shared plinths and supporting bases for a dentiled cornice that have shields and foliate ornament. This cornice is topped by an elaborate balustrade at the 2nd floor, with leafy scrolls curling around each baluster, between wide end posts. The sides of the rear pilasters, projecting behind the columns, also have panels of Renaissance ornament and Corinthian capitals. To the east of the entrance the ground floor has two bays, with a wider double-window and a narrower double-window, both with brown iron grilles, beveled surrounds, and drip moldings. To the west the wider opening is filled-in, with only a small vent, and the narrower one is replaced by a plate-glass window.
The upper floors also have wide and narrow double-window at the outer bays, with two center bays of narrow double-windows, and a bay of small bathroom windows inserted to the right of both western outer bays. The 2nd floor has the same beveled surround and drip moldings as the ground floor, and the center bays are divided by an intricate carved panel with a shield, knight's helmet, and scrolls. Four projecting columns with Corinthian capitals frame the center panel and two center bays. There are spandrel panels with roundels above each of these bays, topped by a dentiled cornice, and a simple band course across the rest of the 2nd floor.
The 3rd floor has a low stone section at its base, with bas-relief panels of shield-like scrolls below each window bay. There are stone keys framing each window, and also the piers at the ends. The stone surrounds at the end bays have intricate patterns of Renaissance ornament, as do the pilasters framing the center bays. Another carved square panel between the center bays features a crown in a circle, surrounded by scrolls and floral ornament. There is a ribbed horizontal panel above this, and similar panels with shields and foliate ornament above the two center bays, surmounted by a dentiled cornice. To either side are small bands of geometric patterns, surmounted by ribbed bands. The ribs are interrupted at the wide double-windows by organic patterns, and again at the end bays, where there are egg-and-dart moldings along the bottom edge and rows of small squares with rosettes in between.
The 4th-7th floors have keyed surrounds at the end and center bays. The wide double-windows have splayed stone lintels at the 8th-10th floors. At the 8th floor the other bays are flanked by narrow spiral colonnettes rising from a string course of overlapping medallions. These windows are topped by escutcheons flanked by foliate ornament, and the colonnettes (quadruples around the end bays) carry arcades of small round-arches. The 8th floor is capped by a projecting cornice with an egg-and-dart molding, except at the wider double-window bays, where it projects less. The top two floors have keyed surrounds, which are topped by more escutcheons and foliate ornament at the smaller double-window bays on the 9th floor. The 10th floor has two styles of elaborate pilasters supporting the terra-cotta roof cornice, which has multiple rows of various-sized dentils, and projects less at the two wider bays. The roof parapet above is brick and terra-cotta, with the pilasters continuing on the upper side of the cornice. The parapet rises up higher at the end bays and center bays, where there are small, dormer-like projections with flat tops crowned by finials.
The ground floor on the west facade is lined with metal-and-glass storefronts. The upper floors have a center bay of wide double-windows, flanked by a narrow-double-window, another wide double-window, and two outer bays of narrow double-windows that slightly project. There is a bay of small bathroom windows inserted between the center bay and the next bay to the north. The basic trim matches that on the south facade, without the elaborate center-bay ornament at the lower floors.
The east elevation is clad in plain brown brick with several bays of single-windows and smaller bathroom windows. The building contains 81 apartment units. The ground floor along Broadway is occupied by Best Copy & Shipping, 101 Smoke Shop, Broadway Dive bar, Angel Eyes Optical, MID Tax Service, The Color Room hair salon, Great Shape Threading Salon, and Feng Nail Salon.
