Rapidan is an unincorporated community in section 9 of Rapidan Township, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. It is part of the Mankato–North Mankato Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Township was at first settled as De Soto in 1858, but was formally organized as Rapidan in 1865. The village in section 9 was first settled in 1863 as a station of the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha Railway. A post office operated from 1875-1964.

The village had a grist mill, a general store, and a cooperative creamery, 1897-1967. The Rapidan Dam built by Northern States Power Company in 1910 brought the first electricity. In 1922 four school districts consolidated, and a school building was erected, being one of the first consolidated schools in the county.

Rapidan was served by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad from 1874 until 1979.
