Former Carriage and Wagon works of the Metropolitan Cammell company. Closed by ALSTOM in 2005 as a Train assembly factory.

In December 2010, the UK Government supported plans to convert the site into a maintenance depot for the High Speed 2 railway line that will run into Birmingham City Centre.
