forest, nature preserve, interesting place
Within the New York Botanical Gardens is a 50-acre forest which is one of the city's largest surviving remnants of original woodland. Visitors can traverse paths that follow the original hunting trails of the Lenape Native Americans and pass by marks carved by glaciers thousands of years ago.
