  I was a member of B Company (251st Port Co. 497th Port Bn. from March 43 to Sept 43 ,in Tent 2 Row 3 West Tent Area. Did Infantry Basic training and also longshore training at the Seattle docks, After completing training we were shipped across country to a camp called Patrick Henry VA with final preps and again boarding a rickety train to go approx 25 miles where we boarded a shipLiberty Ship at Newport News VA bound for No. Africa
