Once a year, mostly in the month of November Kambla (the Buffalo race)takes place here. Its traditional and a folk culture. This is organized and executed by the local Padumane family for generations. Every year some 50 pairs of Buffalos participate in the race which is watched by more than 15000 spectators. Last year Mr. George Fernandez the former defense minister inaugurated this race.This year it is going to take place on the 18th November.
