Penonomé Wind Farm is located in the province of Coclé in Panama, SSW of the town of Penonomé; about 6-12 km south of Penonomé and up to 8 km west of that distance. It consists of a total of 108 Goldwind GW109/2500 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 270 MW.

Officially Penonomé wind farm was developed in several phases, labelled I, II, III and IV, and with a confusing set of names.
• The very first part, consisting of 22 turbines (labelled "Penonomé I") and located in the southeast section, was completed in 2013. Phase I, also referred to as "Rosa de los Vientos", also included an additional 41 turbines located in the northwest section (west of the 'central' road - which goes roughly from the northeast corner to the middle of the southern boundary).
• Phase II, also called "Marañón", consists of 7 turbines (the 7 furthest to the northeast (4 east of and 3 west of 'the road').
• Phase III, also called "Portobelo", consists of (I think) 13 turbines located on the east between Marañón and the southeast Rosa de los Vientos. Phases II and III were completed by early/mid 2016.
• Phase IV, also called "Nuevo Chagres", consists of the remaining 25 turbines, located mostly in the southwest section. It was completed later in 2016.
Just to confuse things further, all or just phases II-IV of this wind farm is also called "Laudato Si'", in honour of the Second Encyclical of Pope Francis and the message therein: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laudato_si%27 .

Comment: Not very definitive about phases OR dates, but there is a lot of contradictory info on the web. :-(
