Residence built c. 1898 in the Shingle style on originally 53 acres of land for Frederick Cocks Hicks {financier, capitalist}. Hicks served as president of Roslyn Savings Bank, member of the Hicks, Kip & Herrick stock brokerage, and director of Floral Park Savings Bank, Glen Cove Insurance Co., Nassau-Suffolk Bond & Mortgage Guarantee Co., Nassau County Trust Co., and Sea Cost Realty Co. He also served as a member of United States Congress from 1914-1923.

After Hicks passed away in 1926, the estate was sold to Lewis Development Company, however, the main home is still intact.
