A 1950s planned community, Parkwoods remains a prominent and desirable established neighborhood in Stockton. Parkwoods is home of the popular Meadow Avenue Christmas Lights. Houses on Meadow Avenue and the surrounding side streets light up during the Christmas season. The area stretches from Meadow Avenue between N. Pershing Avenue and Alexandria Place. However, in recent years, homes south of Alexandria Place and north of N. Pershing Avenue have begun to participate. It is unofficial, but celebrated throughout the city.
