Near the bustling nexus of the sprawling urban metropolis of Pardeeville lies the Veterans Memorial Park. Despite its lack of an apostrophe denoting possession, thus rendering the name of the park technically grammatically incorrect, it boasts a wall memorializing local veterans and a decommissioned tank. Brave men and women of the armed forces are thanked at a large gathering here every Memorial Day for their continuing sacrifice; namely, having to pretend to enjoy themselves while enduring a performance by the Pardeeville High School Choir. This annual festival typically draws much of the town's immense population of 2,068, give or take 2,000. One could say it puts the "party" in Pardeeville, but please don't because everyone who lives here has heard it before.
