Initiated in late 2018 as "Phase 3" of the 15-year sequential upgrade of Bonaire's aviation facilities, the future airport terminal on Bonaire will be a fully modernized facility and will replace the present-day terminal once complete. The terminal will also have a brand-new apron constructed to accommodate wide-body and narrow body commercial aircraft at the same time.
