Estate home designed c. 1931 in the Federal style by Henry Corse (of the firm of Butler & Corse) on originally 36 acres of land for Edwin Gould {industrialist, financier, capitalist} who was the son of financier Jay Gould. Gould served as a founder and president of Continental Match Co., vice president of Bowling Green Trust, chairman of St. Louis Southwestern Railroad, and director of Pine Bluff River Railroad. The 24-room home also had garden terraces, evergreen gardens, and lawns designed by Innocenti & Webel in 1935 and later alterations in 1945 by Ellen Biddle Shipman.

The estate was subsequently owned by Dr. Christopher Montana and later by Alexander Minicozzi. The former outbuildings by Henry Corse are now separate residences.
