It used to be a good place about 10 years back. No longer safe to visit now. Pure MCC belt were no one would feel secure. I won't recommend to anyone to visit this place now. And also its too polluted now. You would have to breathe the coal dust. There's no place to stay there if you visit Khalari. No hotel or guest house available. In nutshell DON"T GO THERE IF YOU DON"T HAVE A PLACE TO STAY.

Its an imaginary place surrounded by Jungle, Lakes & River Damodar. Famous places are Pahari Mandir, Burhii Maa Temple, Mc-cluskiganj etc. Famous things Mango, Coal. During Feb all the hills are covered with red flowers. Importantly that the coal gives power to Delhi, Punjab, UP & other states.

What do you all expect?? Khalari is a COAL FIELD area... of course there will be coal dust around... Cursing dust there is like cursing the Snow in Switzerland.... I have been brought up there... Awesome people, food and most of allthe traditions and culture is en-tact... Like all God and Man made things it has some flaws... However its an awesome place to visit.... Standing on the road and watching the trucks come and go into the depths of the earth also the cool breeze of the trees, The little children discussing various dreams around the stalls... I wont say it is the best place but yes it does have its moments... The best thing about the place can be seen when people gather together in the pahari mandir dispite of that caste and creed they are and eat the khichri on sanskranti... That is something to watch...:)Take an open and positive mind and you will find it a good place...

Khalari is a complete mixture of urban and rular features. I have spent 18 yrs in this place and still I m confused whether it is a village or a town because all the facilities are available here but still some people say that its a village but I have been to village many times and the villages really does not look lyk khalari here education system is very good and all the necessary facilities r available which are not at all available in villages. So if any one of u r interested to clear my confusion then u r most welcme. I will b really happy to know your answers
