To the west of Monce Pond and the Burlington Volunteer Fire Department, there is a large area of forest that is privately owned and used for logging. Despite the private nature of the area and the fact that it is not public property, people often use the sites access to Monce Pond for fishing or camping, as used campfires can often be seen on the logging routes during the off-season.
