A medieval fortress, previously known as Nicefola, and now also known as Rocca Angitola, located just northwest of the Angitola reservoir, northeast of Maierato in Calabria. The site was fortified by the Normans in 1057. The hilltop exhibits various ruined remains of the medieval fortifications. The inhabitants deserted the site after an earthquake in 1783.
