The ruined fortifications called Akkale north of Gümüşsu (previously called Homa) are the site of Byzantine Khoma (Choma) or Angelokastron. The rocky summit features numerous remains from the medieval fortification and settlement, but in very ruined condition. The site featured two cisterns.
